How long are courses usually
4 sessions, 1.5-2 hrs each session. Anything more would be information overload, which can have an opposite effect. Our courses cover just enough to sift through the plethora of information, narrow it down to informed decision based on reliable sources. You and your partner will be much more confident and comfortable moving forth with each other and into parenthood.
When should I register
Classes would be beneficial in their second trimester, around 16-20 weeks, or after your fetal anatomy scan. Couples in their third trimester would benefit with private sessions. Contact me for details. REGISTER today.
Is this Course hard
Not at all! The materials may be complex at first. This is why course materials are broken down for further clarification. Knowledge is progress and can be empowering, plus everyone learns differently. All I ask is for your attention and presence since the classes are student-led.
What comes with the class
Each family will get course materials, reinforced with demonstrations, handouts, and videos. Any extra information will be given accordingly with each class. So no real guessing game. Keeping an open communication, each student can also contact me in between classes via email or text.
Will I be doing strenuous physical activities
Birth is very much like training for a marathon. Practice is vital and so is stamina. We go over a lot of exercises and stretches to help with pregnancy as well as birth and postpartum. Each activity will be done per individual's pace. We do not want to harm mom or baby, but each individual will be vocal in their comfort level. This is part of knowing pain tolerance and what methods help to cope, especially when giving birth naturally (without pain medications).
Do you help with breastfeeding
Yes, I was fortunate to have exclusively breastfed my son, which led me to become a Certified Lactation Counselor. Today, I continue to help a lot of families breastfeed right from birth. Breastfeeding is my jam! Also check out: baby care and breastfeeding preparation. We do cover this in depth during the Bradley childbirth classes. If needed, we can discuss desire for breastfeeding counseling as requested. On another note, I do respect those wishes of families that do not plan to breastfeed, in which we educate on proper handling of baby's feeding and formula preparation.
